Questions about QUORiON cash registers
1. What are the benefits of a cash register over a computer-based system?
- QUORiON systems offer a lower cost compared to PC systems with similar capability yet they are still capable enough for most smaller businesses and other organisations. Not only are the initial purchase costs usually lower, but there are no on-going monthly or annual licence fees for your QUORiON cash register or touchscreen.
- QUORiON hardware is more robust and reliable than typical PC based hardware and should last many more years. The operating platform is very stable, and you won’t get hard disk errors, viruses or crashes.
- Fast and safe recovery from sudden power failures.
2. What is the benefit of interfacing the EFTPOS terminal to the cash register?
a) You can be sure that the right amount has been entered into the EFTPOS machine which reduces the chance of costly mistakes.
b) The drawer will open only when the payment has been approved so you don’t have to check the EFTPOS terminal each time.
3. What won’t these cash registers do?
The more expensive cash registers have a wide range of features and are even capable of running basic stock management, charge accounts and loyalty systems. However, if your requirements in any of these areas are complex or sophisticated, we may recommend another option for you.
4. How will my staff know how to use a QUORiON machine?
The pictures on our website show machines which have not yet been programmed. As part of our setup, we will lay out the buttons on your cash register or touchscreen to make it as simple and intuitive as possible for operators to learn and use. Each button will be named with something that makes sense to you and can be renamed and/or moved if necessary.
We provide you not only with the factory manual supplied by QUORiON, but also with our own user manual which is tailored to the way you will use the machine. We give you step by step instructions for all the operations you will perform such as making a sale, taking payment, calculating change and (when permitted) providing a refund, correcting mistakes, giving a discount etc. We provide similar instructions for your end of day reports and for other tasks such as changing prices, adding/removing items etc.
If all else fails, our 24/7 support team is available to help if you get stuck and we can log in remotely to provide any kind of support when requested to by you by internet.

1. How do I get support for my QUORiON system?
We have a team of experienced technical staff who can be contacted during business hours for any support issues. All new QUORiON machines can be connected to the internet to allow our technicians to make any changes to your machine quickly and at minimal cost. In addition, we offer 24/7 support for emergency issues is available by phoning our 0800 number.
2. I already have a Quorion cash register.

3. What if I need to change anything on my cash register?
We provide you with clear and simple written instructions and will run through this process with you as part of your initial training session. This covers not only price changes but also adding, removing or modifying items and other changes you might need to make. It also covers how to do sales, refunds, discounts etc, basic troubleshooting, and end of day procedures. If needed, we can provide further phone support during normal business hours, and we can even make changes remotely for you on most Quorion models.


Questions about renting from TotalPOS
1. Why should I rent from TotalPOS?
- Low initial capital outlay means your money is available for use elsewhere in your business.

- Rental fees are fully tax deductible and are easy for your accountant to deal with.
2. Do I have to sign a personal guarantee to rent from you?
No! All we ask is that you complete our account application form with your full details. We will take payment for upfront costs and your first month’s rental when we ship your cash register.
3. What are my options at the end of my rental period?
Your contract will automatically roll over for another 12-month period on the same terms and conditions unless you give us notice that you do not wish to renew it. You will also have the option to make changes to your rental if your needs have changed.
4. What if I want to change my rental before the end of the term?
We understand that businesses grow and change over time. This may mean that your POS system needs may change and this may not coincide with your rental term. Because TotalPOS Rentals Ltd is our sister company, we have the flexibility to make changes to your rental contract at any time without it costing you a lot of money.
5. What if I want to cancel my rental before the term is up?
For large scale events like Covid lockdowns and earthquakes or other natural disasters we will consider pausing rental contracts of customers whose businesses have been impacted. In cases of genuine individual hardship, we will work with you to find a fair and reasonable compromise for you.
